The Qatar Football Association owns the Lusail Stadium, which is one of eight stadiums being converted for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar.

The design of the Lusail Iconic Stadium has an almost circular base and will be surrounded by a moat, with six bridges connecting it to the car park. The stadium is stunning both on the outside and on the inside.

Lusail Isonic Stadium conversion procurement process began in 2014. HBK Contracting (HBK) and China Railway Construction Corporation collaborated to build the stadium (CRCC). HBK Engineering W L L completed the MEP work.

The stadium was designed by Foster + Partners and Populous, with assistance from MANICA Architecture. The stadium has a seating capacity of 80,000 people. The Lusail Stadium, like the other stadiums planned for the 2022 World Cup, will be cooled using solar power and will have a zero carbon footprint.

On April 11, 2017, work on the Lusail Iconic Stadium began. The Stadium’s construction was originally scheduled to be completed in 2020. It was originally scheduled to host three friendly matches until the 2022 World Cup, but due to the stadium’s delayed completion, it will now host ten games, including the final.

It is expected that after the World Cup, it will be converted into a 40,000-seat stadium. Excess seating will be removed, and the building will be repurposed as a community space with shops, cafés, athletic and educational facilities, and a health clinic.
