Public Universities in Denmark

Higher education in Denmark is provided by a variety of universities, university colleges, business academies, and specialized institutions. There are eight state-recognized and funded universities in Denmark that provide research-based education and award bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees.

Aarhus University (AU)

Aarhus University offers over 50 English-taught courses at the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels in a wide range of subject areas, and all of our PhD programs are taught in English. Approximately 12% of our students are international, representing 120 different countries.

University of Southern Denmark (SDU)

University of Southern Denmark (SDU) provides world-class education and is committed to an international perspective at all levels.

There are six campuses of the University of Southern Denmark. The main campus of the university is in Odense, and other campuses are in Kolding, Esbjerg, Sonderborg, and Slagelse (Zealand). SDU was established in 1998.

IT University of Copenhagen (ITU)

Technical University of Denmark (DTU)

The Technical University of Denmark (DTU) is an internationally renowned technical university. DTU achieved its highest ranking position ever in 2020, when World University Research Rankings named it the second best university in the world and the first in Europe.
