Shangshaptak (The Loyal Soldier) is one of the iconic sculptures and monument in Bangladesh. The name of the monument is often spelt as Shongshoptok, Songsoptok, Sangsaptak, Shongshaptok, etc. The sculpture Shangshaptak represents the spirit of the liberation war of Bangladesh. It is located or installed at Jahangirnagar University. Hamiduzzaman Khan is the architect of Shangshaptak.

Having shown a person with one leg and one hand severed, Hamiduzzaman Khan portrays a dauntless freedom fighter. The persona is significantly characterized by ardour, obstreperous speed and a fervid disregard for temporal and spatial restriction.

It is found on the website of Hamiduzzaman Khan that the structure of the sculpture incorporates geometric forms which accentuates the desire to move towards the future. The predominant geometric lines give the sculpture a modernist aura.

The framework was made of brass sheet, and the sculptural form was made of bronze. It stands on a traditional red brick base.
