Mustafizur hasn’t played red-ball cricket for Bangladesh since a home series against the West Indies in February last year, but he’ll be back in the five-day setup for the two-Test series against the Caribbean side next month.
Bangladesh will face West Indies in two Test matches as part of the World Test Championship (2021-2023), the first of which will begin on June 16 in Antigua.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz, an all-rounder, is also in the 16-man Test team after recovering from a hand injury.
The Test squad, which will be captained by Mominul Haque, includes star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, while veteran Mushfiqur Rahim will miss the visit to participate in the Hajj pilgrimage.
Bangladesh will also play some white-ball cricket after the conclusion of the second Test in St Lucia at the end of June, with the Tigers scheduled to play three T20Is and three ODIs against the West Indies in July.
Left-handed batter Tamim Iqbal has been selected captain of the one-day team, while Mahmudullah, an experienced all-rounder, will lead the T20 side in the remaining weeks of the six-week tour.
