Bangladesh Women’s Team Won First Match Against Pakistan in World Cup

Bangladesh won their first match of the ongoing Women’s World Cup by defeating Pakistan by 9 runs in their third match. Bangladesh Women Cricket Team have made history by winning this match. The team won the ODI World Cup for the first time.

The Bangladesh team who batted first in this match have crossed the milestone of highest runs in their ODI history. The previous record was also against Pakistan.

Bangladesh faced Pakistan in Hamilton on Monday morning. The Tigresses, who batted first, lost 8 wickets at the end of 50 overs and scored 234 runs. Batting in reply, Pakistan lost 9 wickets and stopped at 225 runs.

After losing the toss, the Bangladesh batsmen set an all-time record for the highest team innings in ODI cricket. Earlier, in 2019, Bangladesh women’s cricket team scored 211 runs for 9 wickets in 49.5 overs against Pakistan in Lahore. However, Bangladesh went down to chase the run in that match.

Fargana Haque not only set a team record but also set an all-time record in ODI cricket with the bat for Bangladesh. In this World Cup match against Pakistan, he played an impeccable innings of 61 off 115 balls with the help of 5 boundaries. As a result, she became the highest run-getter in Bangladesh in women’s ODI cricket. He surpassed the record of his teammate Rumana Ahmed.

Before taking the field against Pakistan, Rumana had scored 915 runs in 44 matches. Fargana stood for 901 runs in 43 matches. Rumana scored 18 runs against Pakistan. As a result, his overall collection stood at 931 runs in 45 matches. Fargana reached 962 runs in 44 matches.

Besides, Sharmin Akhtar made 44 off 55 balls with the help of 6 boundaries against Pakistan. Captain Nigar Sultana made 48 off 64 balls with the help of a boundary.
